Born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, I am married to Tammy (a Vice President with Shore Bank), I have a step-son (Alex) and three dogs (two labs and a Jack Russell). My wife and I have restored an 1813 Federal Style home in the town of Accomac.

I describe myself as being a second generation realtor.  I received my salesman license in 1986 and my broker’s license in 1990.  After graduating from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 1987, I started working in the family business.  In 1988, I started a real estate appraisal company (Atlantic Appraisal Company, Eastern Shore, Inc.).  In 1995, due to my father’s health problems, I moved the appraisal company in with the real estate company.  In 1997, I purchased my father’s company and in that same year, I merged my appraisal company with the real estate company running under the Mason-Davis name.  In 1999, I took the title insurance portion of the business into a full service closing/escrow agency.  In 2000, the title insurance portion of the company was branched off to form what is now Accomack Title & Settlement, Inc. www.accomacktitle.com .   I am the past board member and past president of the Eastern Shore Association of Realtors.

I am a “come here” that has stayed here!  My husband, children and I arrived here from the Philadelphia area 14 years ago.  We chose the Eastern Shore of Virginia for the water, the land and most importantly the people.

I arrived on the shore having worked for a number of years as an oncology nurse.  My undergraduate degree is from Boston University and my graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  I began my real estate career upon arriving here.  I was very fortunate to come to work at Mason-Davis, the oldest family owned real estate firm on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  This company has been a pleasure to work at, with its strong adherence to the
REALTOR® code of ethics and the placing of the clients and their needs first.  Both are ideals with which I am in complete alliance.  I have worked hard for all the clients that I have had the good fortune to represent, both as buyers and sellers.

I work full time at Mason-Davis Company as the Managing Broker.  I am the vice-president of the Exmore Rotary, a director of the Eastern Shore Real Estate Association, serve on a work group for the Virginia Association of Realtors, serve on the local hospital Auxiliary as the financial person and this year have the honor of co-chairing the Charity Ball the second year.

The Eastern Shore of Virginia is the place to visit, enjoy and to make your home.

I was born and raised on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.  After graduating from Mary Washington College, I returned to the Eastern Shore and taught high school English.

In 1983 I became a licensed realtor and joined the team at Mason-Davis Co., Inc. I received my real estate broker license in 1989.  Although I am not related to the “Mason’s” of Mason-Davis Co., Inc., I have enjoyed being a member of the Mason-Davis Co., Inc. team for over 20 years.

In my spare time I enjoy horse back riding, kayaking, traveling and reading.  However, I am very content to sit on my porch watching birds and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature, in this little piece of paradise I am happy to call home.

A native Virginian, I made the Shore my home in 1991 after living in Richmond, and  Charlottesville. I’ve been with Mason-Davis for the past 6 years. Now I live on a quiet cove outside of Onancock with my husband, Paul, 2 college aged kids, and a menagerie of pets. I love all that the Shore has to offer . . . fishing, crabbing, clamming, watersports, gardening, quiet towns, rural living, natural beauty. I’m an ’84 Alumni of Virginia Tech and a Hokie thru and thru. Both my children are now students at VT carrying on the tradition and making football season extra exciting. I’m an avid sports fan, an all-around outdoors person who loves life and God’s creation. Call me to help you find your little piece of paradise on the Eastern Shore.

My husband and I moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 1995.  Bob was transferred by NASA to Wallops Island and I took an early retirement from the Department of Defense to make the move.  The first 6 years on the “Shore” I worked at the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society in Onancock; and met many of the Shores oldest families.  The history on the Shore is incredible and dates back to 1602.  The earliest settlers are recorded in the oldest county court records in the country in Eastville dating to 1620.  My interest in the history has enabled me to become familiar with the vast Eastern Shore.  This has been very useful in my real estate career and has enabled me to have a highly successful 5+ years at Mason-Davis Co.

In 1994, I was living in Norwalk, Connecticut, and decided to buy my first home in Chincoteague Island, Virginia.  At the time, it was a wonderful vacation getaway, just minutes from the wildlife refuge and ocean beaches.  After realizing what a great place the Eastern Shore is, I decided to call the Shore my home, and moved here permanently in 1995.

Thirteen years later, I have come to enjoy all the Shore has to offer… the people, the quiet, secluded places, and the fact that it reminds me of where I grew up as a child – Long Island, New York.  The Eastern Shore is a small peninsula surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and barrier islands protecting the area from the Atlantic Ocean; Long Island is an island surrounded by the Long Island Sound and the Great South Bay, and is protected by Fire Island, the barrier island between Long Island and the Atlantic Ocean.  The Eastern Shore has its agricultural industry, with poultry (chicken) farms, and tomatoes, corn and soybeans as our primary crops; Long Island, in days of old, had its agricultural industry as well, with duck farms interspersed with potato farms on Long Island’s eastern end.  Growing up in Long Island, “everyone knew your name”… Well, it’s that same kind of familiarity that has kept me here all these years.

While working at a Delmarva poultry company as an executive assistant in 1999, I found myself once again facing the hour long commute from Chincoteague to Selbyville, Delaware. Contending with the commute on the two-lane back roads through Maryland and Delaware, I heard an advertisement on the radio about a career in real estate.  It was then that I decided to work more independently, have a more flexible schedule, and get involved in an industry that always interested me – real estate.

I have been a licensed Realtor with Mason-Davis since 1999, and have consistently enjoyed the challenge, the business and the people.  My forte as a Realtor is to make the transaction and transition an easy and enjoyable experience. I oftentimes find myself telling both sellers and buyers alike that I will take care of everything… all they basically need to do is pack!

I have been successful in this business since the start, and look forward to the opportunities the Shore has to offer as it continues to grow and change.  I welcome you to contact me as you consider participating in this growth here on the Shore.

I'm what is referred to as a "native' or "local" which simply translated means, "I didn't come here, I'm from here." I must admit, though, there are many times I almost have to pull my "papers" out for proof. Since my rat terriers are registered UKC, I guess I'm registered ESVA. I'm pedigreed!!

All kidding aside, my heritage becomes more & more precious to me as I watch our changing world with all its technology. You know, some things should NEVER change.

We raised our son and 3 daughters on a farm. By the age of twelve, Jim was driving a tractor & the girls gathered the eggs from the hen house. Weekends were spent signing for clams, fishing, and swimming in the ocean off one of the barrier islands. Guess what? Some things Don't change!! Today my grandchildren are experiencing the same things, in the same places, in the same ways. What a heritage!!

Come, let a native show you the places where some things never change!

I arrived on the Eastern Shore after a life journey that includes moving around the country and around the world.  The wife of a career military officer our family has had the opportunity to live from the West Coast to the East Coast and overseas in Thailand, Indonesia, Germany (3 tours) and Korea.  Each of these moves allowed me to experience real estate in a very “real” way.

I have the typical “patchwork” resume of an Army wife and have worked as an RN, then returned to school for further education and since then I have worked as a program coordinator for a large genetics grant at Duke University and as a psychotherapist , currently working with an outpatient geriatric program.  I have five young adult children and four, soon to be five, grandchildren all of whom enjoy visits to the Shore.

I have lived on the Shore full time for almost 4 years and have enjoyed doing Real Estate and “learning” the Shore.  I not only have become a home owner here but have also become a partner in two local businesses.  I have learned, through my own experiences, many ways to help my clients as they look for all types of real estate.  I have been actively involved in a variety of community activities and supported charity events to benefit several worthwhile, local organizations.  These community connections have also served to benefit my clients.

My commitment to the Shore and service to my customers has made me a multi-million dollar seller since joining the Mason-Davis team and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to welcome new neighbors and friends to this great location where nature abounds.

I grew up in Virginia Beach and earned a B.S. degree at the University of Wyoming.  After owning a second home  here on the shore for 3 ½ years, my husband and I purchased a Victorian home in the waterfront village of Harborton, where we operate a bed and breakfast.  Along with “Two” (our beagle), we host guests from around the world.  Prior to becoming a Realtor® in 2000, I lived and purchased real estate in various parts of the country.  As a result, I know the qualities that clients are looking for in a real estate agent and I work very hard to live up to the high expectations I set for myself.  I invite you to “Come Explore Virginia’s Eastern Shore” with me.

I am a Washington, D. C. native who moved to the shore in 1980.  Since then, I have been active in real estate for the last 20 years with 14 of those years in Salisbury, Maryland and the remainder here in Onancock, VA.  My husband, Duke and I  have six children and 10 grandchildren.  During my years as a realtor I have been a perennial multi-million producer.  In addition to real estate and my family, much of my time has been devoted to working as a volunteer in with many organizations in Salisbury and Onancock.  I was the founding president of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and served on the Boards of the Wicomico Mentoring Project, Life Crisis, Arts Council of the Eastern Shore, Poplar Hill Mansion, Selection Committee for Habitat for Humanity, Allocation Committee for United Way and spent many years working as a mentor for students, in addition to working as an advisor for Joseph House in Salisbury.  One thing that I am confidant about is that living on the Eastern Shore of Virginia is the best decision I have ever made for creating a wonderful lifestyle for myself and my family.

Colin is an Eastern Shore native whose roots in the area extent back over 375 years. He came to real estate and Mason-Davis after decades of experience in the financial services industry. Although Colin handles all types of property he prefers to specialize in waterfront homes and has an understandable special interest in those which are historical.

Whether you wish to list your property or are looking for your next home you should consider putting Colin’s years of professional experience listening to his clients to work for you.
